Sep 17, 2011 · #1 hello, to all. i joined here hoping someone could help me out. i have a lincoln sp-125 plus. the thing worked awsome. It was stored in my dads basement on the floor and the city storm drain backed up and put 3in of water into the machine. I tried to use it the other day and this is what happened. Lincoln ElectricIt started humming and blowing breakers so i did the research and tested the diodes. They failed. The weld are are narrow and ropy, the gun are "kicking" back at me. I changed the liner, tip and nozzle. That is a problem with 120 volt welders. 1) see can change the welder to 240 volt some Lincoln welder can be changed. 2) I fix by buying a 240 volt welder. 3) cheat use a 30 amp breaker some will use the dryer breaker in the garage. You need to blow out your cable liner, while your doing this make sure your contact tip is clean and unobstructed. Also make sure that your drive roll tension is not to much, enough to move the wire but not enough to push it when you have the wire held at the gun.Cleanliness in a wirefeed insures problem free usability.
